You have to SEE it, before you will ever see IT

Joshua 6:2:
The LORD said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor”.

The word see in this verse means, perceiving or ascertaining something apart from seeing it with one’s eyes. The word ascertain means to discover with certainty or sure to come to pass or happen. Sound familiar, NOTHING WAVERING.

What is so interesting about this verse is, this is the first thing that the Lord spoke to Joshua before he told him how to defeat Jericho. When it comes to faith, we have to see our situations as being the finished product. Let me elaborate a little. We have to see our mountain removed spiritually first, before we will ever see it in the natural. If we only see with our natural eyes, then we are living in the wrong realm. The Word declares “the just shall live by FAITH”! (Heb.10:38)

Proverbs 29:18 states, “where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he”.

Christian Fiction

Recently the Lord began to prompt me about some things that are being said throughout the body of Christ and spoke the title of this blog to me.

Fiction by definition means “an invented story or explanation”.

Many Christians are quoting 2 Timothy 3:1-9 and declaring that we ARE IN the LAST DAYS. Are we really in the last days? Did the Apostle Paul have some prophetic insight of the future some 2000 years later? Let’s take a look at the Scripture that I mentioned.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.”

Incline YOUR Ear

Proverbs 4:20: “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to MY sayings.”

In the above passage of Scripture, the Lord is asking us to incline (cause to lean) our ear to what HE is saying to us. Jesus also told us in John 16:12-15 that He still had many things to say to us, so He sent the Holy Spirit to declare THE TRUTH to us. Unfortunately, many of the Lord’s children are not leaning their ears towards HIS sayings or voice; they are leaning it towards men.

Don’t misunderstand me, I know that the Lord has sent teachers to help us, but He hasn’t asked us to be goats who eat anything that they are fed; He has called us to be HIS sheep who KNOW HIS voice. (John 10:27)

When the Lord began to lay this word in my heart, He said to me “many of His children are parrots of men. They just repeat what they are hearing from men and never study the Word nor ask the Holy Spirit if what is being taught is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH.”

You are what you EAT (Spiritually)

Mark 4:24: And He said to them, “Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.”(Amplified Bible)

Prior to Jesus making this statement, He was explaining to His disciples about the parable of the sower who “sows” or plants the Word of God into the hearts of men. The interesting thing about the above Scripture is that Jesus warns us to be careful of “WHAT” we are HEARING. I like how the Amplified states “the measure of thought and study you give to this truth or “supposed” truth is what comes back to you.” Though someone may be teaching from Scripture, that doesn’t mean that “WHAT” they are teaching is the absolute TRUTH.

The Lord says that many are partaking of “processed” spiritual food. Let me elaborate a little on that statement. Just because “so and so” ministry that has been around for 20 plus years is teaching something from the Word, doesn’t mean that they are correct. Much like natural food here in America, it may look like cheese and even smell similar to cheese, but it is “processed” food. Which means that the contents of the package gives the appearance of being real, but it is made up of “MAN MADE” products with very little of the “REAL” thing in the product.

The SET TIME

Psalm 102:13: You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come.

We all live in a system of measurement that we call time. There are only so many hours in our day, only so many hours of daylight to accomplish certain tasks, and we are all limited by this general system we call time.

I don’t want to talk about the “general” time, but I want to talk about God’s “SET TIME” to do something. The word “time” in the passage of Scripture above is the Hebrew word mo-ade` (pronounced mow`ed), which means “an appointed time, an appointed place, and an appointed season.”

Throughout our walk with the Lord Jesus Christ we seem to be laboring continually to receive all that He has promised us through His Word. We are spending our “time” (general) in prayer, fasting, declaring, serving, etc., but only seeing glimpses of what the Lord has for us. I want to let you know that many of you who are reading this blog post today, are entering the “set time” that God has appointed to fulfill all things in your life. Let me give you an example from Scripture.
